ManUtd
Hi experts, I have a stamping appointment scheduled next month and have a question about passport validity Current passoprt expiry : Aug 2015 I797A expiry: Jun 2015 While I was reading instruction online I came across a rule that says "passport valid for atleast 6 months beyond the validity period of form I797A" particularly in my case I have passoport valid only two months beyond I797A validity... is this something to worry about. Thank you for your response, Manutd Link to comment
kumaratluri
no need to worry Link to comment
rangadu
I guess you are reading the rules wrong. The 6 month rule may be from the date of stamping, not from the end date on 797. People get Visas stamped beyond their Passport expiry date all the time. It is pretty common. Link to comment
kchokkal
I recently got stamped until Nov 2015, but my passport valid until Aug 2015. So no problem at all. Link to comment
vamsi_gemini
It doesnt matter as they will give your stamping end date based on I-797 approval only unlike the passport expiry, only thing you need to do is get the new passport and carry both passports if in case you are travelling outside USA.
