H1b visa interview- change of consulate

Hi

I have attended the H1b visa interview in Ireland 2 months ago and the VO kept my passport. They have requested some additional docs from the employer which have been sent to the VO. Now the case is still pending and due to some emergency i need to go to my home country(india).

If i ask for my passport, can i attend a fresh interview in India as i cant come back to Ireland again.

Any information from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
