priyaparepalli
Hi, I got my H4 stamping in Jan2013. I heard that, to convert my H4 to H1 i should stay in US for atleast 6 months before applying for H1B. But H1 slots open in April itself, so am i eligible to apply for a conversion in april if i get an employer. Link to comment
JoeF
Where do people hear such BS??? Don't listen to rumors. An employer can file an H1 for you, but you can only start working on Oct. 1. Link to comment
Attorney_25
It is preferable to wait at least 30 days, or 60 days if you want to be more certain, before applying to change status. This is not an absolute requirement, but helps to keep USCIS from asking questions about your intent at the time of entering the US. Link to comment
