aatishpatel
Dear Sir\Madam, I became a US citizen last month and have already applied a petition for my mother. Now I also want to apply for a petition for my sister.(My sister is an Indian citizen and lives in Dubai, UAE with her husband and two kids 5 yr and 1 yr). After applying petitio for her now I also want to call her on a visitor visa in December 2013. I have heard people saying that if I apply petition (I-130) for my sister now than I cannot apply for a visitor visa around november. I really want to know if I can file a petition as well as apply for visitor after few months of filing a petition OR she need to get a visitor visa first then I can file her petition. Link to comment
JoeF
First off, it takes 12+ years for the PD in the family 4 category, siblings of US citizens. Second, it is indeed problematic to get a visitor visa once an immigrant petition (in this case, an I-130) is filed. Link to comment
