sdhanush
Hi, I did my Master's in Computer Science and graduated. I was on my OPT for 29months and now doing second Master's in MBA. I got my CPT as working for employer 'A' and I shifted to employer 'B' who ran my payroll now but my current I20 has the info as working for Employer 'A'. I failed to report about my employer details to the college before the payroll was executed. I will be updating my new employer info now will this affect me while applying for H1 ? Please let me know. Thanks, Dhanu Link to comment
Attorney_25
The regulation mentions a 48 hour reporting period for an employer when an OPT employee leaves, a 10-day reporting period for students on 17-month OPT extension, and doesn't mention a period for regular OPT. However, ICE does recommend reporting within 10 days in any case. Consequences such as removal from SEVIS and a determination of out-of-status are much more likely from non-reporting than from reporting late. Link to comment

livliv
CPT is not like OPT. It is specific to the employer. So you have to first get CPT for the new employer from your school and then change. Link to comment
