Travelling to India via London, do i need transit visa?

Hello,

I have a valid F-2 visa stamped on my passport valid till 2015. But my status is changed to H-4 since Oct,2012. Next month i am going to India having a stopover at London Heathrow airport. My connecting flight is from the same terminal where i arrive and the flight is within 3hrs. While coming back i will get H-4 visa stamped from India.

Do i need to take a transit visa for transiting through london? Im really very confused in my case. I have gone through the visa requirements on the UK Border agency website for airside transit but it is very confusing and cannot come to a conclusion. Please help.
