sudhi Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Hello, My employer mailed a H1B extension application for premium processing during the 2nd week of January to CA service center. We haven't received a receipt number yet... My H1B expires on March 1st.. What would my status be after Mar 1st if I don't receive a receipt notice by then? Does anyone have an estimate for current processing times for premium processing at CA service center? Can someone please suggest on the next steps that I can take to expedite the process. Thanks much!
Attorney_11 Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Typically, a case which has been filed utilizing premium processing is adjudicated within 15 days of filing. There are no reports, currently, of premium processing delays at any of the service centers. Generally, an extension with the same employer affords the beneficiary 240 days of work authorization beyond the expiration of the H-1B status and authorized stay in the United States while the extension is pending.
cooldude76 Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 If your employer has applied by premium processing then the employer or attorney will receive an email via notice. The hard copy of the notice will follow. Check with your employer.
