H1B Stamping in Toronto

Hi Friends,

I got my H1B in Feb 2011 though my current employer. Earlier I was on L1B visa. Now, I need to travel to Toronto for job related work for a Canadian end client. Can I go to American consulate in Toronto to stamp my H1B. I have all valid papers and I-94 valid till 2014. Will the stamping be immediate or it will take longer?(1 week to 1 month) Is there a risk of being denied and not being allowed re-entry into US. I will be in Toronto on a Canadian work permit for my job. My passport is Indian and my L1 was stamped in Mumbai,India
