vikram05
When we go to Canada do we have to give I-94 to airline officers? As we will get a new one while coming to US. Also i had read somewhere there is rule that we can keep our old I-94 if we are supposed to return from Canada within 30 days. Link to comment
test_acc
Yes, you should return the I-94. The 30 day rule is only valid if you are not going to attend a visa interview. Link to comment
an0n
You can keep your I-94 if you intend on returning to the US in 30 days. But, if you plan to travel back to India from Canada, then explain it to the officer and return it. When i drove into Canada, I gave my i-94 to the Canadian border official. But he returned my I-94 card and asked me to keep it explaining the above. Link to comment

Ajit
Hi Ksd, i don't know your purpose of visit to Canada. But i went for my H1B stamping, they will not take the I94 when you arrive in canada, I94 is something that US govt will give us when we re enter US while departing from Canada.. so when i had my Visa stamped and was departing from canada, we have to clear the US customs and we fill our new I-94, so the officer took my Student I94 and stamped my new I94 and wrote H1B on it.. raghuveer521
Hi, When I was traveling to Canada for my Visa Interview, while boarding the flight at the gate, my I-94 was taken. He asked me if i'm gonna come back to US, I said, "Yes", then he took my I-94 saying that I will be given a new one on my return. Regards, -Raghu Link to comment
