Visa stamping at chennai with no 221g

I attended Visa H1B extension interview in Chennai and Visa Officer just took my passport and said there is a discrepancy in your H1B application. We will get back to you in a week. Don't make any travel arrangements until you hear from us.

I asked if I will get a 221g to track my status and she said, she does not need anything from my side. You will receive a message when there is a update.

Questions asked:

Q. Are you still working for the same employer

A. Yes

Q. Do you have a client

A.Yes

Q. Do you have any vendors?

A. Yes

Q. Do you work at vendors site or clients site?

A. Client

Q. What is your pay?

A. XXXX per annum

Q. Can I see your paystubs

A. Showed my paystubs.

I had a client letter but she did not ask for it. She then returned all the documents except passport and said what I wrote in first para.

Can someone tell me what is happening? How do I track my status without case number? What is the expected processing time for these cases at chennai consulate?

Try calling the consulate and find out the status but I would give them couple of days before contacting. Do you know why the VO said there was discrepancy?
