H1b stamping - will VO consider current date or new petition date

Hello,

I have a question about which date will the visa office stamp since I have two approval notices. My situation is as follows:

Approval Notice 1 is valid till April 15th, 2013.

Approval Notice 2 is valid from April 16th 2013 to April 15th 2014.

My extension was filed by my employer and has been approved. Both notices (1&2) are for the same employer.

If I go on vacation in Feb or March and schedule an interview for H1B stamping, will the US consulate officer take into consideration both petitions and use an earlier date so that I do not get stuck in India till the April 16th 2013 is reached?

Appreciate any advice and/or prior experience in this matter.
