anyone stuck in admin processing without 221g form

Hi ALL I had my interview on 10 Dec 2012 at HYD consulate. The VO asked me a couple of questions then said that he has sent me an email and I need to answer questionnaire. He kept my Passport and 797.I am checking my status using DS 160 conf number and its saying admin processing Anyone sailing in the same boat

I went to hyd consulate on Jan 18th. I had the same scenario, after asking me some questions the vo mentioned that my application has to go through admin processing and she kept my i797 but returned my passport. My client received the questionnaire from Consulate and they replied back last week. So waiting for response??

Did you or your client receive any questionnaire from consulate??

H1 extension at Hyderabad. - sailing on the same boat since Jan 16th and the case us updated today with fresh date and same status - Admin Processing.

All other consulates take 3-4 weeks but Hyderabad takes whole 8 weeks to get the result. Havent heard did any one get it earlier than 56-60 days in Hyderabad.

I just checked today and it says my visa has been issued ! There is still no info about passport. It took almost 55 days...Good luck to you guys !!!

@subash - what (kind of) questions will be there in the client questionaire? I am planning for stamping in chennia, but I am from Hyderabad. Would there be any problem?

My past experience is that Hyderabad is slow in many cases, but not particularly tough. Chennai on the other hand can be very tough. You take a certain risk either way.

In my opinion there are no fixed rules when it comes to obtaining US Visa. The whole procedure is a big mystery and it feels that it has been intentionally designed that way. No consulate is better than others. The only thing that you can do is to maintain proper documentation and answer questions wisely !
