h1b visa stuck in admin processing--switch to H4 visa

Hi,

My wife went to India and had to get her H1b visa stamped there. However, she got a white form(221g) and her visa is in administrative processing. I am working here in US on H1b. Can she apply for H4 visa while her H1b visa is in administrative processing?

same case with me.. I am confused too. Issue with me is : her I140 got approved with 2010 date under EB2. in case the GC numbers start moving, will it hamper the GC journey too, H1 to h4 and again h4 to h1.

She can withdraw the H-1B visa application and apply for H-4 visa. I am assuming that she will be able to document that you as her spouse are maintaining H-1B status. A person can file an I-485 through her own green card process while in proper H-4 status.
