swetapr
Hi, My passport has just Firstname "Sweta" mentioned in it. My H1B petition is going to be filed for yr 2014. I have heard that the Visa is stamped with the name as "<FNU> Sweta", and that this causes a lot of problem later for getting SSN and DL. Should I go ahead for a surname addition in my passport after the H1B petition filing. So that at the time of Stamping I shall have my passport with both Firstname and Surname mentioned in it. I hope this will not create decrepencies as the petition was filed with name as "Sweta" and old passport number and now the new passport has "Sweta Prasad" and a new passport number. Or should I go ahead with my old passport and just the name "Sweta". Kindly advice. Regards, Sweta Link to comment
binoca82
I too heard about this from some forums. Its better you get you passport corrected before starting the petition processing itself. Link to comment
