H4 to F1 while waiting for priority date

I am on H4 and my wife is on H1B from last more than 6 years. Our I140 is approved and waiting for priority date to file I485. I want to convert to student visa and pursue a computer degree which is co-op program, means i have to work and get a slary paid for 1year co-op program in 3 year degree. I want to convert my visa from H4 to F1 so that i can have social security # and i get paid during co-op. Can this be done? How will this affect me on my wife's GC application when we file for 1485? I donot want to compicate our case? What happens if change to F1 and i need to travel to India? Will appreciate if you can answer my concerns?

Hmm, only shady, fake universities do these "co-op" stuff. Like ****, *******, ***, etc. All frauds.

If you want to study, concentrate on studying, not on working.

On F1 you are not suppose to WORK. F1 is STUDENT visa program not WORK visa.

BTW if you are on H1, you can do both. why not H1??

Some co-op program are legitimate. However, the ones I know best are a rotating semester of internship followed by a semester of classes.Something sounds odd with what you describe.,
