Sudhakar0204 Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 HI What is your major in graduation? did you do any certifications in the relevant technology in which you are working? How many years of total IT experience do you have? Have you got your foreign degree evaluation for the US academic equivalence? which consulate you are planning to attend the interview? I have a management back ground at my PG and commerce in graduation. working as oracle erp functional consultant for the last 9 years. had a certification from oracle as certified financials functional consultant. Had ITIL certification. Did a diploma course during my graduation time from a computer training ctr. After having all these the VO at chennai consulate gave me a 221 G white saying additional admin processing having the concern with relevance to my academic qualification and H1b employment. More over i had my H1b stamping in 2008 from a different employer but i never traveled to US by using that. Wish you all the best for your interview and keep posted. Regards Sudhakar hi, I am planning for H1b visa interview nxt month. rangadu Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 What's your industry? Every SAS position is a mix of development and analysis. If your industry is in anyway related to your degree, say Pharma/Clinical Trials/Healthcare, you are better off highlighting analysis you do more than the development work in your employer/client letters, and how related degree is helpful. If you are in the financial sector, I am not sure how you will defend your degree and your line of work. Good thing is, most SAS programmers do not need to have IT background and in some analytical positions, better off without one. You need to be able to explain that clearly when the question comes up.
rahul412 Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 pls give advice how to get prepared for interview if anyone has faced similar type of scenario. There are hundreds of ppl in that scenario. All you have to do is just tell the VO the truth. If you are luck then you will get it. Remember don't try to lie.

Reddy belum Posted January 31, 2013 Author Report Posted January 31, 2013 wat kind of truth do i need to say to vo?
rahul412 Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 wat kind of truth do i need to say to vo? Their are no different 'kind' of truth. It's only one. Just tell him what you do and what you did earlier.
JoeF Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 wat kind of truth do i need to say to vo? There is only ONE truth. If you lie, you can get banned for life. You say the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. What is so hard to understand about that???
catx Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 There is a big difference between earning a degree in a field and taking a few courses in that field when working on your degree in another field -- especially in terms of the USCIS laws, regulations, and rules. There is no such thing as a "kind of truth". There is only ONE truth. Everything else is a lie. If telling the real truth does not allow you to enter and have legal status in the U.S., then you are not eligible to be in the U.S. as a legal alien.

JoeF Posted December 18, 2015 Report Posted December 18, 2015 In addition, industry certifications are completely irrelevant (and usually not worth the money, anyway.)
