skanth117
Hi, How can we check if the university is federally US equivalent? Is there anyway? My employer has initiated my GC process and my attorney says that my university is not federally US equivalent. Please do suggest on this. Thanks. Link to comment

t75
The employer's attorney has access and experience to determine this. Why would you not have gotten an educational evaluation BEFORE beginning the process. Why would you expect to override the attorney's determination? I suggest that you not "rock the boat". If you do not have the educational requirements, either attend a legitimate school in the US or go home and meet the requirements. Link to comment

If this is a US university, the accreditation info is here: http://www.ope.ed.gov/accreditation/ For foreign universities, the country where the university is located would have accreditation info. As for "federally US equivalent", what is that supposed to mean? Link to comment
skanth117
Thanks all for your response. I really appreciate for that. I have got my visa approval from india and I believe every university in US is accredited and meets the requirements and standards and we all assume the same. I also have got my H1 approved based on my educational requirements and I believe USCIS will not leave any stones unturned if there is any issues with the university accredition. I got my home work done before I initiated my process. FYI, I have my university listed in http://www.ope.ed.gov/accreditation/. Link to comment

Yes, I have been through this info before, but didn't just reply and was checking if there is other source on top of this. Even I'm not sure what qualifies a university "federally US equivalent". I'm checking with my employer and attorney. I shall keep you posted on this. Thanks. Link to comment
