E-Verify and H1-B

Hello!

I have a few doubts about the E-verify system.

I used to be on my OPT-Extension till 10/31/12. On the same date my H1B started.

Today I went into the e-verify self check system and it said there is a possible mismatch with the DHS records. Any ideas why this might happen.

My employers technically never made me fill out a new I-9 for the H1B. On the original I-9 that I had filled, my work authorization showed that it ended on 10/31/2012.

But now since, I am on H1-B that end date should change, but I never filled a new I-9 again.

Is my cause of worry here baseless?

Any answers will be appreciated.

A quick note: Before my H1B had begun, I was able to succesfully verify my E-Verify status.
