Port EB3 to EB2

In Oct 2012 I received a clearance on my EB3 application. I recently graduated with an MS from a accredited US university. Hence, coupled with my experience I am eligible to port the PERM application under EB2 category. I was wondering if i can apply to a labor under EB2 category - advanced position with the same employer (within 180 days of the approval of labor under EB3 ) and retain my priority date from the clearance of EB3 labor.

Any help from the experts will be appreciated.

You have an issue with the jobs being with the same employer and receiving your MS while employed. If you could do it, so could a USC or LPR.
