Travel during OPT extension

Hello Guys,

I have a question. My wedding is on december 2013. I'm on OPT extension and my OPT extension expires on May 2014 and my F1 visa expires on June 2014. I am planning to file my H1 next year in 2014.

My concern is:

1. Is it safe to travel to India before 6 months of opt and visa expiration?

2. Choosing a different port of entry other than houston or Chicago matters?
