Hello All,

I attended H1b visa stamping interview at Ottawa, Canada on 18th Jan 2013. (Basic questions nothing specific : I'm into EVC model)

VO told me your visa is approved but your PIMS is not updated.

We will keep you posted.

Can anybody please share useful information how long it will take?

I've my marriage in Feb and I'm stuck at Ottawa with NO passport in my hand.

Please help me out?

You should get it by Friday. It takes 3-5 business days. Today is 2nd business day from day of your interview.

Congratulations on your visa!

Even I thought ill get the same situation as my marriage in Feb. and I'm appearing for my visa on Jan 25th.

So, I posted my concerns in this forum that 'can I request embassy to return my passport?'. I got few replies saying that you can request them if they are taking much time.

I'm not sure about how to approach but send them an email saying its very urgent and tell that you can come back after your wedding. Hope they should understand and reply back to you asap.

Nothing to worry. It just takes 2 business days.

I was in similar situation at the same consulate and got back my passport with in a week from interview.

Hi gk03,

I'm also in the same situation. I've attended the interview on 01/22 in Calgary and got a white sheet from VO stating Admin Processing wit reason written on the other as "Application is not yet in PIMS" . In your case how long it took to get the PIMS update?

Hey Nick,

Generally, It takes two weeks to get the update on PIMS side. This is from personal experience.

Thanks for the update? In which consulate you had your interview? some were saying any where b/w 3 days to a week here in Calgary. Is there any way that my employer or attorney can ask for PIMS update status from either USCIS or KCC?

This is the case with my wife. You cann't do anything about it not even your employer or attorney i guess. Just sit tight and wait. That's a blunt answer.
