Cancel H1B stamping appointment & reuse the fees for H4 stamping

Hi,

My wife is scheduled to attend H1B Visa appointment in Mar 2013. We have paid the fees (had an old unexpired HDFC receipt) and have taken the appointment date. But now we want to cancel the H1B appointment and take a H4 stamping appointment based on my new H1B.

My question is, can we reuse the receipt which I had used to schedule the initial appointment?

I could do it for my appointment in Ottawa, Canada. Actually instead of paying the fees for H1B appointment i paid the fees for Visiting visa appointment. I took a fresh receipt for H1B appointment and sent a request to refund the old one and they did it.

My receipt was purchased in India. I believe in India we cannot get a refund for the fees. So I was wondering if it can be reused if not expired or used.

If the appt fee for H1 and H4 is same, then I think you can use that old unexpired receipt.

Moreover, visa is fee not refunded in any country.
