H4 to F1 Withdrawl

Hi

I am on H4, I joined in a college for the fall 2012 session and I applied for the F1 Visa. Due to the personnel reasons I want to withdraw my F1 application. Before sending the withdrawl letter, i got the rfe for the F1. I call the USCIS and they asked to send the Withdrawl letter. We sent it 10 days back. We didnot got any update from them, but we didnot recieved any confirmation from the uscis, but I am sure they got the letter because I sent as certified mail.

Now my question , can I still stay back on H4 as of now I am having a valid visa and the rfe date is coming up but from the uscis we dont have any update.

Please clarify my doubt. Very much thankful. Thanks in advance.
