Appointments in multiple embassies

Has anyone ever gotten appointments in more than one embassy? Reason I ask - I am still awaiting my Canada Visa. I have booked an appointment in Ottawa - but may not be able to attend it. In the meantime i have a business trip coming up to Brazil and am thinking of getting my H1 B visa stamped in Sao Paolo Will I be able to book an appointment with the same DS160 or do I need to complete a new DS 160?

You need to fill new DS 160. In the confirmation page, you see the consulate address you selected, DS 160 ID, date and time of the interview.
