Stamping for extension on new passport, with teared passport with valid existing visa

Hello,

My initial H1B is expiring on Oct 2013. my renewal got approved on 15th Jan for the period till Jun 2015.

So i traveled to India. On check-in my passport was torn by the airline staff while removing I-94. So here in India i need to apply for new passport. So my question is when i schedule for stamping (Interview waiver program for staming till 2015), do i need to carry both passport. Also if my stamping was made on new passport, should i carry old passport with me for all future travel?

Also on Poe, what questions i can expect with this situation?

You old passport should be always attached with he passport no matter what. I have 2 passports old and new and I know fronds who are regular travellers across the globe and carry 3-4 passports as they have many stampings and needed new passports often.

I avoided stamping process since i got valid stamping till Oct 2013.

I returned safely to USA and I got no questions regarding carrying two passports at the Poe. Thanks for the response.
