If my new employer applies for H1B (cap exempt) can I start employment with them before Oct 1st? Can I start employment with the new employer before the petition is approved (similar to H1B portability)? Many thanks! Link to comment
JoeF Posted January 17, 2013 Report Share Posted January 17, 2013 If you have been counted for the quota in the last 6 years, you are not counted again, and you can change H1 jobs freely, no matter if the new employer is in academia or industry. Link to comment
