aku2708 Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Hi, I am on h4 visa and have just begun my MBA program on h4. I wish to transfer to f1 asap so I can do assistantships for tuition waivers. 1) Is it true that there is a high chance of rejection if f1 is applied from india? (Since my husband works here). Is it better to just apply from US? 2) Will the fact that I have received a partial scholarship from my college and this is my second MBA have any positive or negative impact?
rohang Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 is this 2nd MBA from US? if yes then you might have to explain why? during your visa interview.
satya2k1 Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 The better bet would be to go to Canada and get F1 stamp, and get new I94 at the border. If you already have a valid F1 stamp from previous college or university, but you don't have valid F1 I94, then you might probably obtain a valid I94 in F1 status using previous unexpired F1 visa. My wife did the same thing, she had MS degree from USA and then went to H4,, now she got admission in MBA and got new F1 I94 status using old unexpired F1 visa.
t75 Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Few MBA programs have assistantships. THey are long gone if you are just now applying.
