Rainmaster Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Hi, I hold a Chartered Engineering degree from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers( India) - I.M.E and possess 12 years of IT experience. I have an Indian passport and currently based out of Sydney, looking to file H1B in the current year. I.M.E is similar to AMIE in India and is certified by the Ministry of Human Resources - India to be on par with an engineering degree. Given my understanding, USCIS demands a US Bachelor's degree or its equivalent. I wish to have my degree evaluated by one of the foreign degree evaluators. Can you folks please advise a foreign degree evaluator and let me know if the IME degree meets the criteria ? Is it also mandatory to have the degree evaluated by a professional agency ? Are there people in this forum who have been successful in H1B application with a IME / AMIE degree ? Please advise. Cheers,
jairichi Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I believe that foreign education has to be evaluated by professional agencies. I am sure your attorney would have advised you the same. Check with him. You could find these evaluators in the country you reside. I got it done from ************** at Washington State. https://www.**********.com Good luck
t75 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Are you claiming that you are an engineer but that your experience is in IT?
