drjiteshkar Posted January 12, 2013 Report Share Posted January 12, 2013 Hi, I am a resident physician on J1 visa, my wife currently have a tourist visa - B1/B2, who is also planning to do residency in USA. I am obliged to do 2 year out of country/3 year of waiver job because of my J1 visa. My training will be done by 2015 June. If my wife wants to come to USA on J2 visa and apply for residency now in 2013, can she get her own J1 or H1b visa even before I have got my waiver? Say for example, before I finish my training which is in 2015, if she wants to start her own residency on J1 or H1b, can she do it? or she has to wait till I get my waiver job? If not is there any way by which she can stay in USA and start her residency? Thank you. Link to comment
