My OPT is not yet approved. When i tried to call USCIS, they said my background check is pending as of nov 5th 2012 and they asked me to contact if i dont hear anything for 180 days (which literally means May 5th 2012). meanwhile i got admission into SUNY buffalo for international dental program. Since i am already on a student visa, they said they will transfer my SEVIS from my previous university. i have my F1 visa valid till 2015 dec. My question here is how do i know if my sevis is still active? Can i go to india and come back before my classes start in may 2013? please let me know Link to comment
