Questions related to Canadian Vistor VISA (NYC) (changes starting Jan 7th 2013)

Hi,

I noticed that starting Jan7th 2013, NYC Candian consulate does NOT deliver passports to applicants to who submit "in-person"...meaning we cannot pickup passports the next bussiness day (or) something to that extent.

Applicants can now only "submit" them in person and all the originail documents including passports will be returned by mail.

I suspect this is going to add some delay (just like mail applicants) as well.

I also noticed that they are requesting for "original" I-797 and I-94 documents for submision.

Is it okay to submit photo-copies as these are very important documents and if lost can cause lot of problems?

I have submitted in person on Dec 27. They didn't ask for original I797 also I removed I94 from my passport too... don't know if they changed starting from today :(
