US citizen residing in Canada

Hi guru's,

I am a US citizen currently residing with my husband in Canada. My husband is non-US citizen (he is a Canadian PR holder). I would like to petition for his US greencard. He is a software engineer and is actively searching for a job in the US. I have a few questions:

1. What is the fastest way (besides him getting a US greencard) he could start working in the US?

2. What is the total processing time once I submit my petition for his greencard?
