Travel to India during Pregnancy from USA

Hi,

I am on L1B visa and wife is on L2 visa. Our visa were expired on 1st Aug 2012 and I94 were expired on 28th Aug 2012. My employer applied for L1 and L2 extension visas on 6th Aug 2012. There was an RFE and was responded on 8th Nov 2012. We are expecting USCIS decision in 2 weeks from now(I129 review is completed but the decision is yet to be mailed by USCIS). My wife is currently 7th Month pregnant(27 weeks) and we don't want to take travel risk at this point of time. In the case of L visa denial, do we have a chance to stay until the baby is delivered?

Please note, my employer had also applied for my H1B through counselor process and it was approved on 27 November 2012 and valid till 31st Jan 2015. But, I was told to get the H1 visa activated by stamping process at home country(India). Hence H4 was not applied. I am not sure if my H1 can help us with current maternal pregnancy situation.

Any suggestion or pointers would be helpful.
