sanketbiniwale
I have applied for canadian visitor visa in NY. Can anyone tell in how many days you get your passport. Do they mail it or we can collect in person. If we can collect than what is the process to follow. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
mihir015
It depends. If you have applied for visa in Person then they should have told you when you can pick up your passport. Usually it takes 2 days. But if you have applied via mail then its a different story. I am not sure how much time it takes via mail If you are collecting in person then you just have to go there with the token number (same token number used while applying for visa) and collect your passport with all documents. Sam-->
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp If you have already sent your passport and documents to the canadian visa office, I am not sure if you can go and collect the visa in person but they will certainly return your passport in mail. It takes almost 2 weeks in average via mail. Whether you can collect your passport in person, you can always enquire about that. NewYork-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca Link to comment

If you have mailed then it may take few weeks. For collecting the passport, you have two option: 1. Collect in person between 1-2:30 PM (M-F except Wed). Go a bit ahead to avoid line. 2. Else they can mail it to you if you have asked them while applying. Link to comment
sandeepb4u
When you apply canada visitor visa with all the documents in person, they will give you a token and will tell you the date and time you should come back to pick you visa documents. Generally, it will be 4-5 working days...(you can collect in person). Better go in person, so you don't miss your documents. Link to comment
acherukuri
Probably it will take btwn 2 -3 weeks. They will mail you. You should not go in person to collect the passport. Link to comment
subash1233
I got my passport after 45 days of my document submission (I mailed y documents to NY Consulate). If u have mailed ur documents, u cannot pick them in person. Has to wait patiently. If u or someone submitted documents for u then they will email u when to collect the passport. Link to comment
rajshekar21
Hi, If you applied in person, they would say the day and time you can pickup your passport at the same location(usually 2 to 3 business days). If you applied through mail, the process takes 2 to 3 weeks to post your passport to your address. Link to comment
sanketbiniwale
Thanks all for the reply, My cousin submitted the application on my behalf. At the window they just collected the documents. They didnt gave any token number as well. And said the date when decison will be taken. Can I send my cousin and enquire about the passport and can he request to collect it if ready? Link to comment
