GC process - switch employers?

Hi,

I am doing my residency currently on a H1B and had a question regarding GC after my residency.

If I start with my GC process during my 4th year through employer, is it possible for me to switch employers? If yes, what are the risks involved w.r.t GC processing. Does it delay the process or do I have to start it all over again with the new employer?
