Administrative Processing Vs Additional Administrative Review...

Hello All,

I used to get the below reply when I mailed the consulate:

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, there is no given time frame on the administrative processing. As this is a petition based application, the process can be quite lengthy. Therefore there will not be a need for you to check back regularly with the Consulate. Once we complete the administrative checks, we will contact you regarding the outcome.

Today the response changed as below:

Your application is pending additional administrative review. Once the Consular Officer receives and reviews this information, you will be notified of the Consular Officers decision. Please be aware that the Consular section will be closed until 2 January 2013.

Is there any difference between additional administrative review and administrative processing. Please share your experience or thoughts on this. Thank you.
