H4 to H1 Visa transfer - is stamping needed in between if company is changed

Hello,

This is Nikita.

Currently i am on H4 Visa. Now few days back my husband changed his job and now another company is holding his H1 visa. But, my Visa stamping for H4 is from the previous company.

Now, we wish to change my visa status from H4 to H1.

Also, i am planning to visit India after 6 months.

Should, we start out Visa transfer after i return from India, or it does not matter if we start it now?

Please, guide me with the details
