H1 B case reopen

Hi guys,

My friend was graduated in December 2012, and right now is in her OPT which expires on Jan 19, 2012. She is working right now and had applied for H1B through an employer in June 2012. She had received an RFE in Aug 2012 with an expiration on Oct 29,2012 . Her employer had replied for the RFE on OCT 28, 2012. She has the tracking information about the receipt of the RFE in the USCIS office, but apparently she got a decision from USCIS stating that RFE was not replied or responded and yesterday the USCIS website updated that her H1B was denied. Her employer has currently sent the tracking information to USCIS. Meantime, I wanted to check if any of you were in a similar situation or atleast heard of it. And what are the chances for her H1B case can be reopened when the tracking information reaches USCIS?

What are the other possible ways for her so that she doesnt go out of status like applying for Jan intake in any colleges?
