Visa interview dates in Jan 2013 at Chennai consulate

Does anyone know if January 2nd and 3rd week dates are filled in Chennai? or if it will eventually open?

It is not showing any available dates for 3rd week of January, for 2nd week 10 and 11 is available.

I haven't booked dates for my visa interview or H1 in Chennai. I have booked flight tickets from Jan 7th and return on Feb 7th. But as dates are not available I am planning to reschedule. Should I wait for dates in Jan to open up for another week? or should I book for Feb anyways? I am confused as to how to address this issue.

I have booked my flight tickets from the US to Chennai on Jan 7th and return Feb 7th. As dates in Jan are not available and now only Feb 8th onwards is showing up, should I book whatever is available and reschedule the tickets? or I should wait for Jan dates for another week as there is a 3 week to 4 week wait time.
