H-1B approval notice

My H-1B extension was approved on Dec 7 but my attorney has not yet received the approval notice. Can you let know how long it usually takes to get it?

Also, I am travelling to India in 2 days for a 10 day trip. Do I need the original notice for reentry or will a copy be sufficient?

Generally, it may take up to 14 days to receive the original approval notice from USCIS. It is generally not required to carry the original approval notice to the Consulate; however, it may be requested at the Port of Entry.
