H1B Stamping Appointment: Change in Passport Number

Hi All,

I have taken appointment for H1B Stamping on 3rd Jan 2013 in Mumbai.

It allowed me to Schedule the appointment even though my passport is set to expire 3 months after the appointment.

I am about to receive my new passport from the Indian Embassy in NY very soon but it will have a different passport number.

Would it be a problem if I show up for the stamping appointment with both old and new passports, but the appointment letter showing old passport number?

There is no way to edit this number after the appointment is confirmed.

Anyone has any insight on this, please share with me.

I am supposed to fly to Mumbai next week.

I am considering cancellation if this situation is risky.

you will have to take your both passports , you will have to have your old passport always
