HI,

I have a question regarding visa interview in Toronto.

Will the Visa officer give the passport back if they issue 221g??

If so, are you allowed to travel to India? & come back to canada if there is any update on the case?

is the candidate not allowed to leave Canada if he got 221g issued & come back to toronto when there is an update on the case?

please advise.

When I got 221g I kept my passport and also travelled to India. If you think it is wise, you can keep your passport if at all you get 221g and travel back and forth if needed. Make sure you have multiple entry Canadian visa.

you can request to take back your passport. Many have done that here in Ottawa Canada too. Met quiet a few memebers who got 221g

Yes many of them went to the consulate where they took an interview. usually in the later half of the day usually after 1pm on tuesday's and thursday's, please check if you can visit other days for requesting passport return during this time and inform them you want to take the passport as you have travel plans. That is a provision.

its very hard to get a visitor visa to canada from india. i would suggest you apply for multiple entry visa here in US and go for stamping.

multiple entry passport has many advantages you would not have this outlook unless you get stuck up in Canada waiting for visa

Can you get the passport back at the same moment if 221 g is issued? I mean are there specific days to go request passport return or after the interview is over u can collect it immediately?
