Immidepend Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 I just got married last month and came back to US. I am working on a full time basis. I am filing H4 for my wife who is in India. Can someone please help me with the check list of documents? Some web pages mention I 797 for H4 (showing Class = H4). I am confused that how I can get 797 for H4 as it's never filled. Please provide me the list of docs that are needed at consulate. We are planning on Mumbai consulate.
rajen.b Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Copy of I-797 and not the originial is required for the interview. if somebody says original I797 is required, its not true. Original is required for the prinicipal H1B applicant and not H4. as far as documents are concerned: 1. Your paystub 2. W2 3. copy of passport 4. letter of employment 5. marriage certificate 6. wedding photos 7. wedding invitation from your and her side. this is a comprehensive list for the interview.
