H1B extension after I140 first and last name issue

Hi

I have received H1B approval few days back. However My name in the approval document is not as expected as I had requested. First and last name were swaped.

However When i submitted my H1 Receipt has the correct first and last name that mathes with my passort.

When asked my lawyer , they are asking to file for an amendement. is it safe to go for amendment ? and can this be done without amendment process ?

any one had this issue any suggestion will help..

I am having the same issue- and the employer's attorney suggested an amendment.

However, they are asking for a huge amount of money to be paid upfront (almost as much as the H1 fees) + the attorney fees.

Please let me know if this really is the amount needed for the amendment.

Also, on calling USCIS, they ask for the employer to be on call with you (employee) :(
