H1B amendment question

Hi all,

I am planning to get my H1B (Valid till august 2015) amended with the current client (On EVC model) location. Problem is, I might not be able to get the client letter. I might be able to get an email copy from the client saying that they do not give a letter.

My HR says that this might be risky and I might get my H1B term reduced to a year or so and that we might get few queries to submit additional documents. How true is this and has anyone faced such issue?

I am also thinking to change to a client who gives a letter.

I really need to get the H1B amendment done so that I can go for my stamping. Please advice.
