Green Card Eligibility

Hello everyone,

I hold a master's degree in computer science and I worked as a software engineer for my previous employer a little over 4 years. I liked my job so when I requested for GC, they were ready to file it in EB-2 but unfortunately our attorney told that it could be difficult because they can't use the experience that I have obtained with them. So I had taken up a new job. Now my question is for instance if I work for this new employer for a year or so and go back to my previous employer, can I use all my previous experience to become eligible for EB-2 (4.5 years with previous employer plus 1 year with current employer)? Any input is appreciated, thanks!
