H1B extension and approved I-140

Hi All,

I was hoping if you could help me with the following scenario.

Before moving to California, I worked in New York with the same employer. My PERM and I-140 was approved in EB3 category when I was in New York. Now, we have renewed H1B beyond 6 years based on the approved I-140 from New York office. My current office plans to file my PERM in EB2 category and capture the previous priority date in the near future. In case my New York EB3 priority date becomes current and remains current, can we still request H1B extension from California office?
