H1 extension - 7th year - long wait and processing time - CSC

Hi Friends,

My 7th year H1 extension was filed on June 12th and got the receipt on June 20th. The status as of date is still shown as 'Initial Review'. This is with the CSC. Is this long wait normal these days? Does anyone have their 7th year extension approved with a later date of filing/recepit?

My visa expired a month ago and my employer says that since an extension was filed it is legal to continue working. But it bothers me. Can I now apply for premium processing?

Any help is appreciated.

@thyagaraj81 I have also been waiting for my petition approval and its a fresh petition. I applied on 1st of June and upgraded to premium on 26th of September. It seems CSC is placing some cases on inquiry and its taking longer than usual. Check with your attorney to get the exact status.

These days close to 5 months dude.. so wait.. you can keep working if you are not travelling then you are good. Mine filed on Aug 24 and still waiting.. Hopefully they move fast now..

Same here.

My I-129 was filed and received on June 7th, 2012 by CSC.

It is 7th year H1B extension with approved I-140.

As of 11/19/2012, it is still "Initial Review."

Yes you can upgrade to premium processing anytime.

CSC sucks.. i have seen VSC approval for month of Aug too

Is there anyone who filed before June and still on Initial Review? USCIS website shows that the case processing date in CSC is May 25th 2012, which was updated on Nov 9th. Its been few days from then, so to get an idea as to how far it has moved.

I am in the June queue (got receipt of extension from CSC on June 22) but still the status shows as 'Initial Review'. For some whose dates are beyond 22nd also, it has moved to approved, not sure what exactly the reason why the queue is not being followed consistently.

I am also in the same boat. I filed (premium, VSC) for 7th yr extension based on approved I 140 in last week of Sept, got RFE answered it got receipt by Oct 25th. Since then waiting..
