6 years H1b expired. Status F1. i140 pending.

6 years of H1b after using recapture time has expired.

Perm was pending for less than 365 days while H1b expired, so changed status to F1.

Now Perm is approved and i140 is pending.

Just want to confirm that once i140 is approved I will be eligible to apply for 3 year H1b extension.

You can apply H1 based on I140 approval. But did you finished your school??

True. You can also file for 1 yr extension based on the PERM.I140 will be approved during this 1 year.

Thx guys, I have seen that 1 year extension based on Perm or 3 year extension based on i140 are filed when the person is on H1b.

The question basically is that can H1 extension be filed(based on i140) when you are on F1 and full 6 years of H1b has finished.

Yes, you may file for H1b petition when on f1. Remember there is nothing called an extension, its always a new petition.
