theuser1 Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Hello, I am currently near the end of my 6th year H1B term and will be applying for an extension(have approved I140). My employer is not taking care of it and I will have to take care of all the expenses. Can someone please let me know the actual cost involved for filing, etc. Thanks in advance.
rahul412 Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 My employer is not taking care of it and I will have to take care of all the expenses. When he is not willing to file your H1, why do you wanna work with him? what's the guarantee that he will pay you in future? Moreover H1 cannot be filed by the employee, and paying H1 fee is considered as fraud.
theuser1 Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 @rahul412 I did not say my employer is not willing to file H1, he is not paying for the expenses involved.

kalyan_ac Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 You are getting yourself into trouble by asking this question in the forum.
rahul412 Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 OP dude, you cannot pay for your own H1 filing. that's considered fraud and if USCIS finds this out it could be a problem for you and your employer. Looks like employer doesn't want to hire OP, but the OP wants to work with that employer.
